Day 185

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

and where there is sadness, joy.

grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;

to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Day 184

God,

Thank You for your infinite love.

I am loved by amazing parents.

I am loved by encouraging and supportive brothers and sisters.

I am loved by a wonderful, strong, intelligent, inspiring wife.

I am loved by two sons

I am loved by friends that make the good times better and the bad times easier.

Your love surrounds me every day.

Amen.

Day 182

God,

Thank You for walking with me through another day.

Help me to trust and have faith in the path You have created for me.

Help me to see through frustration and reach understanding.

Help me to replace worry with belief,

Help me to transform fear into confidence.

Help me to love others as You love me.

Amen.

Day 181

Why do I pray every day?

I pray for safety, I pray for health, I pray for happiness, I pray for peace.

I pray with gratitude.

I pray with compassion.

I pray with love.

My prayers are not a contract or deal that I am trying to make with God. Prayer is my way of spending time in God’s presence with the hope of developing a sensitivity and connection to the Holy Spirit that lives in and around all of us. Selfishly I want to learn how to “Go with the flow” rather than swim against the current and struggle.

Here is the rub… even if I am going with the flow, not every river is a peaceful stream. Some rivers flow down mountains as white water rapids, some rivers lead to powerful waterfalls, and some rivers run dry.

My prayers do not guarantee a shady, quiet, peaceful stream. My prayers help me to understand that stream, rapids, waterfall or my time to evaporate and run dry, I can live in harmony with God and the Universe.

I can live with gratitude.

I can live with compassion.

I can live with love.

God,

Help me to love all those around me as You love me.

May I be like the sun and shine without judgement.

Help me to love others not because of who they are, but because of who I am.

Amen.
