God,

I pray and give thanks for new beginnings.

Open my eyes to opportunity when You present it to me.

Give me courage to take a leap of faith if that is what is needed.

Remind me to seek and ask for help.

May my prayers shape my thoughts, guide my actions and strengthen my spirit.

Amen.

God,

I bow my head in prayer.

Still my heart as I acknowledge the things that trouble me.

Lift my mind as I focus on You, on Your love, on Your grace.

Guide my actions today with Your love and compassion.

I know that whatever I face, You are with me.

The last few weeks I have been struggling to find my prayers.

I normally feel your presence guiding me and can hear the voice of my mother and father, clear as a bell, when I ask for direction.

It is not that I have lost my faith, it is more like I can not tune my radio to hear any station.

Help me to quiet my mind, body and spirit.

I know You are with me always.

You are the infinite stars in the sky.

You are the warm sun on my face.

You are the rain that fills the oceans and brings life to the earth.

You are the air that I breathe.

I know You love me and I love You.

Amen.

Thank You for her friendship.

Thank You for her love and care of our children.

God,

It is with a heavy heart I pray today.

I think of the suffering Jesus endured: the betrayal, the injustice, the torture, the humiliation… the worst mental and physical abuse humanity could fashion.

There are so many suffering around the world.

I kneel and pray that You end the needless suffering of all souls.

Give them hope.

Lend them strength.

Bless them with peace.

Amen

 

 

Prayer of The Seven Directions

Begin facing EAST- This is where the sun comes up, and so the direction of new beginnings, hope, promise, and potential. Pray that you may be open to receiving these gifts this day.

Turn SOUTH – This is the direction of warmth, growth, fertility, also known as creativity and productivity. In addition, this direction represents faith, trust, and faithfulness in relationships. Pray for these things this day.

Turn WEST – This is the direction where the sun goes down. Thus, it is the direction of rest, of our dream lives, and of closure and endings that need to take place in order for there to be new beginnings. Pray for these things this day.

Turn NORTH – This is the direction of the cold, of winds, of strength, courage, fortitude, might, single-mindedness, focus, clarity and purpose. Pray for these things this day.

Turn back to the EAST and turn UPWARD – Pray that your heart, mind, soul, and spirit will not forget to look upward this day, to the One who is so much greater than we are.

Turn DOWNWARD – and touch our Mother, the earth. Pray that everything you do this day will be in honor and reverence of our Mother Earth.

Turn INWARD- Place your hand on your heart and pray that all that you do this day will be true to the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit who dwells within you.
